1980Serving Rochester families since
Before there was a store, there was Sandra Kowalewski driving frames to nursing homes. After twenty years working for ophthalmologists and other optical professionals, she started her own business so she could stay home with her young son, and began bringing eyeglasses to elderly and homebound people who couldn't come to a shop. Before long she was serving nearly sixty homes, some as far away as Bay City.
She opened a small office on Main Street in Rochester to handle the paperwork. People kept walking in asking for help choosing glasses. So she opened the store, filled it with hundreds of frames, and let customers take a pair home for a few days to be sure. That was 20/20 Vision.
Decades later the address is Walton Blvd in Rochester Hills, Dr. Dolan does the exams on site, and the frame wall has grown from Christian Dior and Wayfarer to Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci and Versace. What hasn't changed is the reason people drive past the chains to get here: someone who knows your name will tell you the truth about a frame.
"You don't own one pair of shoes; why should you own one pair of glasses?"Sandra Kowalewski, from a Rochester newspaper profile of 20/20 Vision

“Great experience. I will be back!”Tom, Rochester Hills
“Extremely friendly and professional staff. I won't go anywhere else again. They helped me get the most out of my vision insurance and helped me find a pair of frames I really enjoyed. I've never been somewhere where the service was so personalized. I love this place!”Erika, Rochester
“I have been going to 20/20 for years and always have a pleasant experience with the entire staff. They make shopping for glasses fun. I came in looking for a Rudy Project authorized dealer, got a great exam, and the team helped me order exactly the sunglasses I wanted, even letting me try them on before purchase once they arrived. My wife's first pair came out a little thick for the frame she picked, so they helped her choose a different frame and replaced them free of charge. She loves the new set. Super friendly staff. We'll be back.”Emily, Oakland Township
